Some of you may remember Kaitlyn's 2nd grade science project - Wilbur, the Praying Mantis. Wilbur did quite well and lived in his cage until October. The kids had a great time harassing him and watching him eat crickets.
This year we went with something less "alive":
Instead of weeks of watching a praying mantis grow we spent weeks watching bananas rot. It was very exciting. Seems bananas do better in bunches and in a box wrapped in a towel. Who knew? Seperating bananas on the counter is the worst - apparantly bananas like each other.
Kaitlyn did very well and we are so proud of her! Here's the photo she liked better -
Right now, I'm just glad it's over and there are no more black bananas laying all over my house!
