Who knew the girls would like to pet sharks? Or snakes? Or alligators? Or sting rays?
Turns out the girls love them all and if they could've they would've dove right in to the shark tank and had a go 'round. Thankfully that was impossible :) I guess at 2 you have no real fear of having your fingers sucked off by a nurse shark or being stung by a sting ray.
The sign said and I quote "Pet and feed the animals at your own risk. The stingers have been removed, but are capable of regrowth." Nice right?
Their favorite part of the whole place! Sticking their hands in the "petting" tank.
What they were reaching for - Julianna actually caught one at one point!
Do you see the Goliath Grouper in the tank? The thing was HUGE! At 250 pounds it was just a "baby" - apparantly it will suck down anything and will often eat other fish in the tank. Wouldn't want to come across this thing in the ocean!
Better view of the grouper - there's a full grown nurse shark underneath.
With Grandma and Grandpa at the other petting tank.
Petting the snake. Everyone did it (including me) - none of the girls are afraid of anything yet!!
And the alligator. Basically every hour they were feeding something or other. First the eels - which are very creepy - then the sharks in the tank which the kids loved - then the alligators. We watched them jump for their food which was very cool and then we could pet this little tiny gator. We just had to avoid his teeth :)
And mommy petting Maverick - yep, they all have names.
Before the aquarium we ate lunch at a Greek restaurant. Actually all the restaurants are Greek in that part of Tarpon Springs. It's the sponge docks and they're just all Greek. I'm not sure why - someone else might know :)
The girls had Sprite for the first time so they were just a bit excited about it :)
Other then a few overly full diapers we had a good day and the girls did just fine being out all day with no nap :) After the aquarium we hit Chuck E. Cheese and then a bookstore - yes, I'm a glutton for punishment but they did okay there too! For the first time in weeks they fell asleep as soon as they got in bed and no one talked! A miracle.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my
4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She
placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
